PRESCHOOL MUSIC CLASSES WITH SUSAN VANCE

Join Susan for an 8 week program of music and movement especially designed for preschool children. Susan has taught elementary music in the Avon Lake Public School system for 29 years. She is currently the Choir Director for the Avon Middle and High School.

SATURDAY MORNING PHOTOGRAPHY CLASSES

This exciting hands on photography class will teach all the basics of how to use the manual mode on your camera to take better photos. Students will learn the basics of composition, perspective, lighting, stopping fast action, and other camera tricks. Join Doug Khrenovsky, former photojournalist and now commercial photographer, as we learn camera practice techniques outdoors and critique the classes work. Students are encouraged to bring their own camera to this class. Due to the more advanced camera topics, this class is recomended for students in grades 7 and higher.

STOPMOTION ANIMATION

Calling all filmmakers! Get hands-on experience using digital camcorders and Apple’s iMovie® editing software. Create your own stop-motion animations using LEGOS or Clay and use your imagination! Anything is possible! Upload your film to Youtube and become famous! You can even view some cool kid-created films on our Youtube channel, ddc2000.

INTRODUCTION TO CARTOONING AND COMICS

From initial concept to published comic, this course will introduce students to the art of crafting comic books, comic strips, graphic novels and Comic Life software. Visual storytelling is an extremely powerful tool in today’s world and this introductory course will help you build skills that you can use to communicate your story. You do not have to know how to draw to create comics! Use your own drawings, photography, or images to tell your story.
