3 Little PrincessesThank you to all the dads, grandpa’s and everyone else who joined us for “Donuts With Dad”. The children were very excited to have their special guests join them for donuts and fun in our classroom. Some of the favorite activities were building structures, playing in the moon sand, and the space scavenger hunt. Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedules to be a part of our day.

Language Arts During our Fairy Tale Unit: The children really seemed to enjoy the Fairy Tale unit. They especially like being on “stage”. The children worked on their recall skills as they re-enacted the Three Little Pigs and The Three Billy Goats Gruff. They never seemed to tire of preforming or watching each other act out these stories. They tried these skills out behind the stage, on the flannel board and to music. These stories also provided great opportunities for the children to identify their favorite characters and demonstrate an understanding of the difference between fantasy and reality.

At the end of our unit the children became authors as they helped make up a class Fairy Tale. They came up with the setting, the characters, the beginning, middle and the end. The next day they illustrated the book: The Three Little Princesses and the Fire Breathing Dragon. It is a well read book on our bookshelf!
