Start the New Year off with a wonderful music experience with Susan!

Classes begin Thursday, January 27, 2011 and continue for 8 weeks. The last class is March 17, 2011. This 8 week music and movement session will conclude with a special performance by our young artists.

Meeting Time:  3:15P.M. to 4:00 P.M.

Cost:  $80.00 payable to Pembroke Kids.

Susan’s Early Childhood Music classes will be taught once a week for 45 minutes. These classes will be fun filled lessons teaching all the basic skills and concepts of music. The children will learn the concepts of rhythm, beat, pitch, dynamics, musical form and scales by playing many singing games and participating in instrument explorations. The children will enjoy mini-musical dramas, creative movement, singing performances and instrument accompaniment to their favorite songs. The children will have developed a repertoire of over 40 songs as new songs, teaching new concepts, are introduced each week. They will also learn valuable social skills as they share and interact with each other with respect and kindness and encouragement. The children will develop self-esteem and enjoy confidence, as they are able to express their creativity and uniqueness in a safe and positive environment.

The power of music is wonderfully apparent with young children, whether it’s seeing shy children lose their inhibitions and proudly sing out a verse or seeing teary eyes responding to unexpected emotion while rocking their teddy bear to a beautiful ballad…. it is always amazing!
