Summer Garden 2010As you can see, our garden has flourished this summer. We’ve been harvesting beans, basil and cucumbers since the beginning of July, and now the eggplants are ready. The sunflowers are really cool. We even picked a watermelon today. The tomatoes have been slow to ripen and are still not ready – which brings us to Mr. Woodchuck. Garden Sunflowers 2010All along we thought the Deer were going to give us trouble, but boy were we wrong! Old Mr Woodchuck has been digging holes under the fence and strolling through the garden munching green tomatoes and peppers as he goes. Every night we fill in the holes and add a couple heavy boulders for good measure. The next day we find another hole. So far, we’re on the losing end, but it looks like there is still going to be enough produce to go around…….we hope.
