Garden’s and Ponds and Doughnuts OH MY!
We have had such wonderful changes in the young-three’s classroom as of late. Last week our focus was flowers and planting. We planted flowers and learned the parts of a flower last week. We sang the song “flower, stem, leaves and roots” to the tune of “head, shoulders, knees and toes” in order to help the children learn the parts of a flower. We also created flowerpots and planted sunflowers and marigolds. We are hoping that something sprouts any day now!

This week we learned all about the pond and the animals that live in and near ponds. It was a wonderful connection from our oviparous study and the children enjoyed the unit immensely. Additionally, we had a blast when the Dads joined us for some school activities and a few doughnuts. We thank each and every Dad that was able to take time out of their schedule to come to school for such a memorable day. The children were beside themselves on Wednesday and Thursday with anticipation of showing off their classroom. Thank you.

We are looking forward to “Muffins with Mom” next Wednesday and Thursday from 11:00-11:45 a.m. Invitations were sent home last week for this special event. If you are unable to attend this special day please let either Miss Brooke or Miss Jackie know so that we can plan to spend time with your child and make their day special.

Be sure to check out the Scholastic Book Fair in the wiggle room all next week. There are some wonderful titles, new and old to add to your personal library at home.
